NEWS FROM PTA:

PTA is trying something new to help encourage communication. Each week we will post a video of one our students giving the PTA notes.  Within that video there will be a code word to listen for.  Click on the link to watch the video. Listen to the announcement and the code word.   Email the code word to stvpta@gmail.com by noon on Dec 9 with your family name.  Those families will be entered into a raffle to win a $5 Amazon gift card.   Last weeks winner was Hannah Ridley’s Family.

Thanks to all those who helped with Jingle Bell Shop.  It’s a great way for kids to get excited about giving.  Thank you to all the volunteers that made this happen, especially our chair persons Emily Weigand and Carly Vondrell

Christmas Concert

PTA organizes a light refreshment reception after the Christmas Concert on December 20th. It’s a nice time to connect with other families and wish Christmas cheer to everyone. We are looking for 2 or 3 “hosts” to set this up.  A Sign Up Genius will go out to ask for treats. Please contact stvpta@gmail.com if interested.  If we do not have hosts sign up for the reception, we will not be able to have the reception. We are hoping to have parents from the upper grades be hostesses as the younger grades will be focusing on the concert.

Candy Sale

We are extended the candy sale to sell off the last 20 boxes. If you haven’t already sold one, it’s not too late.  Please get a permission slip from Mrs. Derrick and we will send a box home with your student.  We are working towards purchasing a new public address system for the school as part of the safety and security improvements.

Volunteers for Catholic Schools Week

Catholic Schools Week is coming up January 27-February 2.  There will be dozens of opportunities to volunteer including Open House, Everybody Counts (January 31), and Teacher Appreciation Lunch (Feb 1).  Most of these require Virtus Training.  Please consider arranging your schedule to volunteer during that week.

There will be a Virtus Training in English on January 23 for St. Vivian school and church families.  There will be a Virtus Class offered in Spanish on January 12.  Both these classes will have child care on request. We will also be serving pizza starting at 5:45.  Take the class before Catholic Schools week and get in a raffle for a $25 Amazon gift card.  You must register for the class.  Contact Julie Zinser if you have questions about registering julie.zinser@stvivian.org  or go to virtusonline.org  and click on first time registrant.  The class is filling up fast!
